Childcare and Education
Care Educators are limited to 4 children under school age including their own under school age children and 3 school age children. Registrations are by appointment , a $30 registration fee applies to all children in the family and is a once in a lifetime fee.
As a licensed and accredited service child care benefit and the child care rebate are applied where families are eligible. The Coordination Unit receives funding from the Australian Government to support the operation of the scheme.
Care Educators come from a variety of backgrounds and are chosen based on their ability to provide quality childcare for children in a safe home environment. Educators provide a unique caring environment where children’s needs are met and are sensitive to the requests and needs of families, including cultural or religious needs working with families.
Care Educators comply with The Child Care Regulation 2003, The Child Care Act 2002 , Family Day Care Quality Assurance Quality Practices Guide 2nd Edition, Scheme Policies and Procedures and the DEEWR Child Care Service Handbook 2009-2010 and the Early Years Learning Framework, you can read more about this at www.deewr.gov.au/EarlyChildhood
Before Care Educators begin their career they need to have all of the following:
